The best thing about this place is you know you'll have a consistantly awesome experience. Still the best vegan food in Sacramento 21'

A small family owned Mexican joint with good food made from the heart. They have a wide variety of dishes from traditional Mexican to vegetarian to vegan. They make their own chips and salsa. When its in season there mango salsa is to the for. Staff is friendly (usually momma) waiting on or at least stopping by to make sure everything is okay. And its great to see a family owned business that has survived COVID.

So many delicious vegan options. Always impressed with the vegan pozole! One of my favorite places to eat in Sacramento.

PLEASE READ ENTIRELY.. I am writing this with a very heavy heart; I had been going here for 9+ years then the owners sold and retired just prior to Cinco de Mayo 2021. Here it is almost three months later and the new owners finally reopened.. The food was pretty much the same; my husband thought it was slightly better..BUT it was 45% higher than the previous menu prices..Our bill was $38 after tip, without any drinks..Plus it's not as though you get table service; you order at a counter and then they bring it to you. We ordered exactly the same thing as always, so we could rate it against what we were used to..a 2 cheese enchilada dinner with rice and beans and a bean cheese burrito..Perhaps that was the issue..They didn't have combo plates on the menu, so essentially everything had to be ordered ala carte..What Mexican restaurant doesn't have a 2 item dinner on the menu? I believe this will be our last time here, since there are other options, just not as close as EPG.
